Working Together for the Oil Mill

Preserving Our Heritage

The Friends Association of the Berschweiler Oil Mill was founded in 2000. Since then, its members have worked to preserve the historic mill and make this piece of regional heritage accessible to future generations.

Award-Winning Preservation

Between 2000 and 2007, volunteers carried out an extensive restoration of the mill in accordance with historic preservation standards. Their work was honored with the Saarland Historic Preservation Award. The careful reconstruction of the mill’s historic windows also received the German Crafts Historic Preservation Award.

A Historic Site Full of Life

Today, the Berschweiler Oil Mill is much more than a place of remembrance. Cultural events, guided tours, and personal encounters bring people together and keep the mill’s history alive.
